Hydrogen peroxide is a cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS) produced in living organisms in a number of physiological reations1. High concentrations of hydrogen peroxide are produced in the development of a number of diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer2.

The PeroxiTrace bioluminescent probe from Intrace Medical is the second generation of the known hydrogen peroxide probe3 that has been optimized for applied research. The probe possesses increased water solubility which eliminates the need to use high concentrations of organic co-solvents.

PeroxiTrace probe allows to visualize hydrogen peroxide fluxes in vivo in small living animals expressing luciferase using the highly sensitive bioluminescent technique.

Although PeroxiTrace probe is soluble in water if high concentration solutions have to be used some organic co-solvent (e.g. DMSO) might be required to aid solubility.
